I think that there are some kits available, google it, but why would you want to. Keep the ign system in good shape and it will last many many years.

I have a '66 33hp and it runs like a top. Why change over?

Conversely, I just converted my '75 Johnson 20hp from the modern ignition back to magnetos and it works great. Much simplier and less wires n junk under the cowling.

Those can be a pain, you can try tapping on the bolt in the puller, but sometimes you just have to walk away and let it set with pressure on it. Keep checking, tightening the puller, tapping. You can try to use something like power blaster on it.

Mix up some atf and acetone 50/50 and try that on it. One thing to remember is Patience.

I have, but you have to have the right puller.

Drill it out. I had a 25hp once where I stripped the 1/4" hole so drilled and retapped it to 5/16" (holes) then one of the 5/16" holes stripped so I drilled and retapped it to 3/8"! Then I got it off. But I have 3 different bolt sizes in the flywheel now. Aluminum is easy to drill and tap.

Make sure you're using Grade 8 bolts and washers for the puller.
Seafoam is not a penetrant or a lubricant.

On flywheels that are tough to get off, I just tighten the puller till there's a lot of tension, then I gently tap in a circle around the top of the flywheel. It works good to break it loose.

The flywheel nut is the only thing that holds it on.

Re: can you convert point style ignition to electronic

You can use Brian Miller's Nova II electronic ignition modules too. They replace the points and condensors. I ran a 1969 Johnson 6hp outboard with a set of them for years. I did return to points, because I felt that the idle was better, but the NOVA II modules require no seervicing at all, once installed.
