Can you limit how far the outdrive trims up when using the trailer switch?

Got my boat all back together and made it on the river. However I noticed that my outdrive will not stop and hits the back platform of the boat when I raise it with the trailer switch. I did install new trim tabs, I have those set correctly but the port one only stops it with the trim tab. If I'm using the trailer switch I know when to stop, but am afraid that someone else may get in there and cause damage.

TIA

EDIT: btw...mercruiser 5.7 efi, bravo 3

you can limit it only with your fingers using the "trailer " mode

I thought the tilt (trailer switch) would allow the drive to go as far as the pistons will allow (full up position).

only if you hold the button ,otherwise it stops when you release the button
For silvert, there are internal stops that are installed "inside" the trim pistons to prevent that from happening

Thanks guys.
yeah I'm not wanting it to go as far as it will go.
Also, there is spacer that goes in the slotted hole where the cylinders mount in the rear. On a bravo 3 does that go in front or behind the bar/rod that the cylinders mount to? I'm at work now, but was thinking if I put that spacer behind the rod or bar, that would allow the outdrive to go higher. I can't recall where I placed it.
