Can you service Thermostats without removing powerhead from adapter?

I have all the parts to do the thermostats, I can get at all three of the bolts however I do not want to remove the thermostats without knowing if it is possible to properly reassemble with the valve cover without removal of the powerhead.
Thank you

You shouldn't have to remove the power head to change out the T-stats

Re: Can you service Thermostats without removing powerhead from adapter?

Hey there,
i am running a 1998 Evinrude 90 SPL. I did my stats last year without having to remove anything serious. Admittedly, the bolts at the bottom of the stat housings are tricky to get at. There are a couple of bolts around the bottom of the shroud around the power head (they're about 9/32") that you can remove and loosen up the shroud, but that's only if you absolutely can't get at the stat bolts. Take care to clean the gasket surfaces very well, and make sure the new stats go in in the proper direction. Shouldn't take too long or be too bad a job. Good luck

Great news, That motivates me to get it done prior to sticking the boat in the slip. Ill report the progress with some pictures.
Thanks for the input.
