Can you trust pre-mixed fuel/oil?

I run a 19' Bow Rider with a 115HP O/B Johnson. My Clymer Shop Manual suggests avoiding pre-mix fuel from the pump because it may vary in actual fuel/oil ratio. What's the general opinion in the iboat world? For convenience sake, it seems pre-mix from the pump can't be beat, but if the mixture changes, wouldn't the engine be affected?

Don't use it. You have no idea, or gurantee, what you are getting.

Pre mix from the pump? You mean already pre mixed out of the pump at the gas station? I've never heard of such a thing...

Plus, most people don't use it anyway, so it sits there forever. I would never use it...

ZmOz;

Yes, pre-mixed at the pump (at my marina). It's stored in an above ground tank, probably holds 500 gallons. I'll stay away from it though, since most seem to agree it's not the "fuel of choice"!

Just curious, how much more do they charge for this premix? They don't do that around here.
