I really want a gofast boat like a donzi or nordic or baja. I will be getting a boat in the next week.

The wife and i would like to be able to add a wake board tower and board from time to time, nothing fancy. I am not a pro or even good at wakeboarding but i would like to be able to learn.

Will the bajas or donzis get on a plane at 20mph with the proper propeller? it ust sucks that mastercrafts go so slow.

Any info would be great, when i had my nordic i never tried to board behind it but now i want to get back in to it again and be able to go 70mph also lol

You can probably wakeboard behind an F-14 fighter jet, but the wake's not very good, so what's the point? Unfortunately, they don't build a boat that satisfies every need. You may need a couple different boats. I like to sail and ski. The boats that the manufacturers came up with to perform both functions, suck at both. If your budget at this point doesn't allow multiple watercraft, you may need to seriously contemplate your day at the lake. Personally, I watch the guy in the 70mph Baja drive back and forth 7-8 times (with his blond girlfriend's hair blowing in the breeze), and try to understand where the fun is. For you, that might be great. For me, it's been a number of years since I've had a blond girlfriend. . .

i like your analogy lol. i want to be able to go fast sometimes and go offshore (i live on the coast of washington)

But i would like to add a tower and wakeboard when i take it to lakes and stuff, i dont need competition waves to learn to wakeboard and have fun.

WIll the bajas get on a plane at wakeboard speed or would the nose be sky high trying to plane

The short answer is yes you can wakeboard behind anything that has the power to pull you up.

As for the not getting on plane I have spent a fair amount of time and money to keep my supra getting on plane at wake board speeds(18-20mph)so if your go fast boat is not fully on plane at 20 the bigger the wake will be.

Only concern is a driver that can hold it at the speed with the boat on the edge of fall back into the watter fully.
I would recommend some type of cruise be it perfectpass or similer product.

I've pulled my son on a wakeboard behind my Checkmate. Yes, it's doable. Speed control is a bit of a challenge because going that slow in a go-fast hull you're right on the edge of planing and if you let just a little speed bleed off you're falling off plane. I'm going to add a fin to help that situation (haven't done it yet so I can't say for sure how it'll work out), on an I/O smart tabs might be a better choice (just going by what others here have said).

Sure you can.

As long as you understand you will not get a wakeboard boats wake.

Make sure you get a boat with some big trim tabs and look for one with a wide pad (flat spot on the bottom of the hull).

Donzi is probably your worst choice since they tend to set the drive higher for top speed.

Avoid a stepped hull, but a notched transom can help.

You didn't mention what size your looking for.
