I just picked up this boat not too long ago, serial numbers on plate are not readable. I have looked at various engine covers, it has a VRO, which makes it at least a 1984, however, there is no seperate VRO tank(Im still mixing my own oil/gas). I will let the pictures do the talking, we were guessing its a 1987 200TX? The STL had side vents where the STX didnt. Also is it a 25" shaft?

Look on the block for a core plug about the size of a quarter. You might find some numbers on it.

stand behind your engine on the exterior of the boat and look on the left hand side on top of the last cylinder behind the thermostat there should be an id plate looks like a freeze out plug on a car block that is where you should find your engines numbers atleast thats where mine is located. if its not on the left check the right side.

1983 200 25" shaft. As it's got a vro it could be a block off of another mtr.
