Cant figure out year of my Mercury 1500

Have a Merc 1500, 150hp Blue band serial# 8028193 Have looked at all the sites but cant seem to figure it out, any help would be appreciated.

I was leaning towards 1978 as its an aussie motor, how did you come up with 1975, I am not saying your wrong just maybe you didnt realise it was an aussie model
