When I order parts from my marine dealer they always ask me for the serial numbers but I can't never find any numbers.... I think I have a 88 Chevy omc 5.7 cuz I have the log exhausts but they always wants to make sure... I have no info on valve covers or top of the air filter.... so question is is there any more numbers I can look for that will tell me my motor info???

Re: Can't find info

Do you have an 88 Cobra? You dn't need the serial number, you need the model number

These are 1988 5.7L model numbers:

Model 574AMLGDP
Model 574APRGDP
Model 574BMLGDP
Model 574BPRGDP

Re: Can't find info

only the 305 came with a 2 BBL, all 88 350s had 4 barrel carbs.

You can also look for a casting number on the block - the googles would probably lead you to a sbc chevy casting number guide somewhere

Well I was looking at pics of 305 and 350 and my motor setup points to 350.... I will look at Google and see where I can get the casting numbers

Re: Can't find info

502APRGDP will be your model number if the boat is a 1988

OMC tended to use GM parts that lagged the automotive line by a few years.
