Cant find model number

somebody please id this outboard i look for the model# can't find. i look at the block i only see this number 69400 & 65601 hope this will help thanks

I have the same problem. I just got a used 15 HP and the plate is gone off of the transom mount. I called Yamaha and they said they have no way of telling what year it is without that plate.

Look at the engine block. There is the serial number.

I’m stuck. I tried giving Yamaha that number and they told me it didn’t work. The number stamped on the block is the part #. I believe mine has 68202 on it. Need help, I’m ordering parts blind on this thing. It is a 15HP manual start, manual tilt. The seller told me he thought it was late 80’s, early 90’s. Can anyone help?
