Can't find Part Number for Gasket (lower unit) 28HP

I recently did some work on the lower unit... Johnson 28HP SPL (I think its 1996).

A gasket broke in the process... I will try to describe it.

Its on the exterior of the lower unit (starboard side)... which covers the "shift rod linkage" access hole.

Its a 2 hole gasket, that is oval about 3 inches by 1 inch.

I tried calling afew places and nobody can get a part number. All the diagrams I see on the net only show the lower unit beyond the mounting bolts... nothing shows the shift rod linkage.

I can take pics if needed.

What is the model number of that engine? The gasket you're describing is part number 304023.

Get the model number to us and we'll tell you what you have.

Its been hard to identify this motor... in my research I found it should be... J28ESLED 1996

That gasket looks like the right one.
