Today I removed the thermostat housing off my 1994 volvo penta to get the part number and can't seem to find it anywhere. The only place that had it was eBay but its used. I was trying to find it new but this part number does not show up anywhere. Not sure if it got replaced with different model but have seen a housing that looks very similar to mine. If someone could help that would be much appreciated.
My housing has model number- 3850359
Housing that looks similar but number is - 3850360 (it may fit but not sure)

Year of the boat's a 94 They made a whole bunch of motors in 94.
Is it a 4cyl or a 6? Maybe an 8?

Re: Cant find part!!

So many times NLA parts can be hard to track down. But some serious persistence does pay off. I had such issues with OB cowl gasket/seal. While my part number wasn't available anymore, a newer part number that was the same profile but about four inches longer was. So I bought that seal and cut it to fit. I've done the same with other parts as well. They change the part numbers but are the same parts. So you really have to look and cross-reference sometimes to find what you need...

The 3850360 part should have been the one that came with your engine not the 3850359 one. That part has been used for a long time and even later Volvo models.

It was actually the OMC design 'stat housing that Volvo Penta adopted with the joint venture and used for many years.
Keep in mind this is the one with the rubber ring inside that holds in the thermostat. It can be hard to spot because it can be covered with surface rust.
