Well if oem is now obsolete , you have to use Sierra parts then.
Mercruiser thermostats come from a factory in Israel, marked made in Israel, and Sierra thermostats come from the same factory in a Sierra plastic package. Made in Israel. So whats the difference?

While it may be the same size and work, I'm just not seeing where 26-32911 is said to use on a bravo gimbal housing BT. A good list of what 26-32911 fits can be found in here near the bottom, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/32911-seal

^ Just noticed something regarding all these seals.... 26-32911 ^ is designed to fit a GIMBAL HOUSING With an "SQUARE / SPLINED" UPPER SWIVEL SHAFT. Which seemed to be mostly found on the Pre-Alphas 1976 - 1983ish. http://www.mercstuff.com/gimbalhousings.htm

While the old no longer available seal part number 26-416071 in question fits the GIMBAL HOUSING With an "SQUARE / SQUARE" UPPER SWIVEL SHAFT Which would fit after a "certain" serial number for the Alpha Gen 1's (< Just depends what T/A model you have) and all of the Alpha Gen 2's and Bravos.

And now the new seal part number that will fit the "SQUARE / SQUARE" Shaft is 26-8M2005029 that seems to have been originally listed under the Vazer Drive which is also listed as the new seal for the Alpha-1-Gen 2's and Bravos depended on where you look this up. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/8m2005029-seal

Here is the guide lines to all the info just found, http://mercstuff.com/gimbalringparts.htm

jwells02, you mentioned you're looking for item number 1 within your link which that seal isn't listed at all nor is the "Gimbal Housing" itself where the part numbers would be making that link not really complete as again it's missing many parts most likely due to that is all they carry in stock....Problem is when it's like that all the numbers seem to get out of sync.
If you look at other parts images, your item number 1 is item number 4 or 5 depending on what parts diagram/serial number range you're looking at . For example in here the seal is # 5, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/s.../30973/5398/60

Either way the seal in your link known as # 1 is part number 26-416071 which has now become 26-8M2005029 Available here on iboats too , http://www.iboats.com/SEAL/dm/cart_i...iew_id.1625708
