I am having some issues with my motor hesitating and I am thinking it might be a vent issue but I can't find the damn thing. I have a 98 Sea Ray Express Cruiser 215. I can only see three hoses coming off the top of the tank, one going to the engine and two going to the gas cap (one large one and one small one). There is a small metal nipple vent on the drivers side just sbove the water line which I thought could be it but don't see it connected to the tank. Any ideas on where the vent might be located?

This hesitation? is it when you are pushing the throttle fwd or after it has been going a while?

The hesitation happens at wide open throttle but not during normal operation.

I thought that second hose might be the vent but doesn't seem to make sense since the gas cap seals **** with a rubber gasket. There is a plastic pin in the middle of the cap that is covering a screen but I can't see sit getting through this. Can it?

I have the same cap. Yes, the cap vents.

A clogged vent would not cause hesitation. You would loose rpm from fuel starvation.

Leave cap off and go for ride. If it hesitates it's not your problem.
