I have a 1971 Mercury 135 hp. 48-77344A40 17P

Every place is sold out or discontinued. What can I use for a replacement? Do I need a "hub kit" etc.

its on a 71 Glastron v170. Thanks!

They are sold out/discontinued because that's an old part number. Visit the prop section and look for 90 thru 150 Mercury outboard. They all use the same props. The current Quicksilver # is QA2036X(17 pitch) but I would get a Solas Rubex or Turning Point instead because they are better performing props.

i agree the Solas props have a good reputation.
If you are changing props this may be the time to fine tune your application.
If you can get us your present performance, wot rpm and speed also your gear ratio.
You can confirm the diameter of yours by measuring from the center of the bore to the tip of a blade and double it.
Diameter is a secondary consideration you may note that as pitch goes up generally diameter goes down,a 4 blade is usually smaller diameter than a 3 bld.

i just got the boat and it needs some work done. so I have no clue what its like. Or if its going to even run. lol. The current prop has a crack in one of the blades and is bent.

While searching, I see some that say I require a hub kit. http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/Me...133-17_Propeller/294/20328/?*******=107511220

and then some that I dont. such as this one Solas Amita Aluminum Boat Propeller #1411-133-17 for Mercury 90 - 150 HP Outboard Thru 1977 Models 900-1150-1500 Models - iboats

Is there something I need to look for?

You have just found out that some prop brands have removeable hubs, some do not. It really doesn't matter which you choose. I like the Turning Point Hustler props for high performance applications. You will have the 4-1/4 dia gearcase.
