Ok guys I'm sorry if I posted in wrong forum. I have bought my first boat without knowing as much as I should about a boat and I got ripped off pretty bad. So my motor wont tilt up past maybe 6 inches and it feels like its straining alot just to get there and it immediately comes back down to rest. Trimming it down seems to work fine although I haven't had it up real high. It has a hydraulic motor where you put the fluid In and there is a hydraulic cylinder on each side of the outboard. The blue/ green wire goes to a toggle switch at the rear of the boat and the connections are soldered on. If anyone has any insight on my issues I'd rlly appreciate it. Thank you

2 things, check fluid level in the pump, also grease the 2 fittings on front of the motor at the steering tube

Ok thank you for the reply. When I barely unscrew the bottom screw of the hydraulic motor it oozes out lots of fluid so I guess that part is ok so I'll grease the fittings.

oil will ooze out but the question remains...do you have enough oil in the system to do the job.

fill the system and cycle the tilting then refill… do this a few times 3-5 and see if things improve
keep cycling and refilling until 100% full of oil

if things work out ….. then oil was lost probably due to leaky seals and the T&T needs to be serviced

also you need to raise motor all the way up to put fluid in it

I believe both cylinders trim to a certain height.-----Then only one ( next to the motor / pump ) does the tilt function.-----There may be a leak in that one.

So racerone, I greased all 4 fittings I saw within the bracket area and the outboard tilted the entire way up which it's never done. But of course it slowly came back down and about the halfway mark it stopped and stayed there on it's own like it's supposed to. And it wasnt the kickstand it was resting on either.

An o-ring kit is available.---Will likely fix internal leaks on these cylinders.

And everyone talks about the manual trim release screw but I sware my unit does not have one. I've looked everywhere. And the cylinder beside the motor that may be leaking, is that something average joe can do or a certified boat mechanic?

Why argue ?------It does have one !!---Item # 79 on the parts listing .-----Just look for it.------They often are corroded and won't move to release the pressure.
