Also, not that this is any sort of accurate measurement, but the boat did seem to sit normally in the water, the one time I did take it out. I assume that if it were a lot heavier than normal it would sit really low.

My neighbor said he'd let me borrow a set of doel fins and an 11 pitch prop (IF he has one, he isn't sure what its for yet) to see if the problem changes at all. Obviously, the cavitation plate has to come up, and I'm hopefully getting that taken care of next weekend if finances permit.

I'll post the results for posterity, in case someone finds this thread a few years from now.

You know, I pulled a couple hgundred pounds of wet foam out.....couldn't really tell if the boat was riding higher in the water or not. But it did make a huge difference on the trailer springs. When I got done with my restoration, I had to have 3 people sit in the boat so it would clear the garage door! Needless to say, I reworked the trailer so the boat sits lower.

Well, I scored a set of Doel Fins from my brother's boat since he's selling it, and after a few beers I talked him into giving them to me. Actually, he probably drank more of my beer than the fins were worth........

I am hopefully going to be getting an 11 pitch prop Thursday and try the new setup out on Friday, weather permitting. I'll post the results.
