Re: Can't get race out of Kodiac Disc
Sorry that I didn't get into more detail on my original post. Brass punch.. yes. Worked that for 45 minutes but as I mentioned, there is no lip. I have race pulling disks but with no lip, there is nothing for it to catch on. The steal pipe thing trying to catch it with a different angle and shape but like I said no lip.
Why the race is being replaced? They have 6K miles on them. Also last year on the way home from a long trip, I stopped to get fuel for the truck and a bite to eat. As soon as I stopped I checked hubs and such. All is good. Got all pulled together again and 300 miles and I am home. At home I saw that all my Bearing Buddies were missing. I replaced BB and repacked them but they do need replacing.
I called Kodiac yesterday. I was told by them that there is a mistake in the casting of there disks and that the races sit flush with no lip. The only way we found to remove them is to weld onto them and then punch it out or to go behind the race with a Drummell Tool and grind 2 small slots so you can get behind it with a punch. Can you say.. Pain in the *****.
