HI guys new to this site. I have a 20 ft tritoon with lifting strakes and a 1989 merc 150 on it. I can not seem to get enough rpms out of the motor. I had a 14.5 by 17p on it, ran 43 mph @ 4800. Had the prop re pitched to 15p. I now run 38 mph @ 4800. Looking for 5600 I believe. These are aluminum props. Want to buy a SS prop when figured out. Cant seem to gain rpms. The motor is set back 11 inches and the center-line of the prop shaft is 4.25" below bot. of center toon. I am thinking carb problems maybe ?.This was in the shop recently and carbs checked fine, they adjusted but didn't take apart. Any thoughts would be appreciated. What prop would you suggest?
