I have a MCM 165, serial # B578236 and can’t find a listing or parts for it any where? Can you all help? What kind of motor is it? Parts list? etc! I need valve cover gasket, bolts for valve cover and a set of plugs! Ty ahead of time

Isn't that mercruiser's ugly stepchild that uses the 460 Ford head?

Bolts should be 1/4-20 x 3/4" sourced at any hardware store. Even Walmart & Meijer carry common fasteners nowadays.

You could probably get a pair of fel-pro gaskets at auto parts store for far less than oem & have a spare even.

How do you like that engine? I've heard nothing but horror stories about them but have never owned one to know for myself.
Good luck
Jim.

Well hopefully as BT commented yours has been properly serviced & maintained & you'll be able to enjoy your boat rather than work on it.

I picked up a project boat mid summer that I've been fixing up & I told a buddy the other day it reminds me of my drag racing days. Go play on the weekend & then work on it all week long. Lol.

GA_Boater meant that it's a 470 (not 370). Or maybe he meant that it's 3.7L. Various names for it throughout the years. Some of us like 'em. Mercruiser aluminum block with a Ford big block head. Plenty of help available on the forums if you need it...

I knew something was up when I couldnt find anything on a 370...No worries! We are whipping now. So if I have some problems with this motor is it better to rebuild it or replace it? In your opinion?

I'd probably replace it (v. a full rebuild) with a 4.3L, but why do you think that needs to be done?

Ayuh,..... Don't hook it back up till ya Clean the inside of the tank,.....

Hook up a remote tank of fresh gas right to the fuel pump or fuel filter for Testin' purposes,....
