Can't raise 70 Yam by hand to top up fluid.

Have a 1989 Yam 70 and I am having problems with the T&T. It was having trouble lifting and lowering the motor so I attempted to top up the fluid.

I know the most common procedure is to loosen the manual release screw and then lift the motor and lower it by hand 4 times so as to not create foam.
Unfortunately I cannot budge the motor when I attempt to lift it, even with the screw almost all the way out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Let me clarify that. I can lift the motor easily when the screw is tight but as soon as I loosen it I cant lift it or lower it.

Sounds like you are turning it in the wrong direction for loosening maybe

[No have added fluid dozens of times over the years but something is definitely wrong here. Just wondering if there is a back door way of doing this.

Well if you can lift it with the screw tightened then do it that way and lock in the up position and then fill

The whole point in doing this is to loosen the manual release screw and then lift the motor and lower it by hand 4 times so as to not create foam and to purge it of air. I am not getting anywhere by doing the same old same old. There must be another way of doing this.
