Hi,
I blew a fuse in my 1995 playbouy pontoon. There are 4 push button type fuses on my panel. I want to replace them but the fuses are so old that the amperage indicators on the fuse have faded away and I can't read them. How do I know what amp fuse to replace it with? I'm not running anything major just radio, lights, depth finder, accessories, trim, and horn I think.

Curious to is that everything quit working at once. No lights, radio, trim, horn, nothing. Does this mean that I blew a bigger fuse somewhere or when one goes they all go? Thanks.

There should be a circuit breaker or fusible link near your battery that feeds the line going up to your helm fuse panel.

I think what I'd do is(go look it up somehow if ya can or), since the current is relatively low'ish( << 20 AMP sounds) on the four and once you know all systems are "go" again, you could use an inline current meter and measure each's nominal values. I think doubling the measured nominal values is a safe bet. If you have a clamp on, could do that too!!

Just as a sanity check thou, eyeball the wire size's and if your proposed doubled fuse values are << the limits(Google it) of each wire..........win win!! Unless you have had major major undersized modifications and the like of course.

And :welcome: to iboats.

Unless you were hit by lightning, the odds that all 4 Circuit Breakers (Guessing 10A) went bad, all at the same time, is Astronomical!
As stated, there is a fuse (~30A) near the battery that feeds the helm area. If it Blows Everything dies.

Just went through this a few weeks ago. Couldn't find my fuse. Here it was is in the charger. What a stupid setup. Had to take the charger apart to get at it.

Another thought occurred .......Amp rating usually is in/printed on the sides of the breaker body(or just a label) as well........When ya get yer other problem/s sorted out and get to replacing these things, might want to first peek around in back of them for a look see in the fine print.
