Can someone advise how to remove the float bowl on a Seahorse 25hp Model RD-14? I have removed the four screws, but still cant get it off. Is there something else that needs to be removed? We inherited this motor and plan on using it. Also could someone advise the initial adjustments on the carb?
Thank you!

1953 Johnson 25 hp. Nice motor.

Those screws are the only thing holding it together. Sometimes the bowl is stuck on the carb body. You will need to pry it apart. Just be careful and try to separte each side a little at a time.

If it has been sitting a long time with water in the bowl, it may be corroded to the main nozzle. Prying still applies.
Initial opening 1 1/2 turns on slow speed, 3/4 turn on high speed. It should start and run rich at these settings, and will need to be reset on a boat, in the water, for smoothest operation.

Thanks for the quick replys! Finally got it apart! Just was afraid to keep prying on it if there was something I was missing. It was quite tarnished and had actually "glued" itself together.
