Can't remove the gear case fill port threaded plug

I have a 1990, 90 Hp VJ90TLESB engine. I can remove the drain plug, but the fill plug is stuck pretty good. The plug has a single slot that looks like a flathead screwdriver could work, but the slot is sort of wide and not too deep. It is very difficult to get any leverage on it before the screwdriver tip slips right out. I've tried a hand screwdriver, a hammer drill, and PB blaster. Can anyone help?

My 87 150 Johnson is the same way; I use a hand held impact tool that you hit with a hammer. It has an extra wide flat-blade tip attachment that fits the slot very well; a couple of sharp taps and the screw comes right out. Maybe this will work for you.

Make sure there is a gasket on the plug, most times when I see these stuck is when people opted to go without the gasket and just crank it down tighter.
