My captain's chair mounts in the deck are stripped out, 3/4" decking I suppose, on a '97 larson 226 LXi. The former owner has already rotated the mounts once to place the screws in a new location. they appear to be 3/8inch Diameter lag screws. Anyone have a better solution for mounting these things? I'm contemplating raising the deck up under them with fresh wood, glued and screwed to the original decking and using stainless ""T" fittings (Like a nut) OR the same "T" Fittings under the original decking. Any suggestions?
