Carb bolts

I'm having a pain of a time trying to locate adequate carb studs locally to attach my "new" 4bbl to the new intake. Is there any reason I can't use bolts if they will clear enough to get them in the holes? The only problem I see is that one bolt is partially obstructed by the secondary fuel bowl (Holley 4160), but If i file off about 1/32 of the head on one flat, it will clear. I would use a Hex bolt, a flat washer, and a lock washer. Already checked and the bolts are the perfect thread pattern... So...Bolts ok to use instead?

Also, as I remember, carb base gaskets are installed without any sealer. Can someone confirm?

Re: Carb bolts

Bolts should be fine, Does a local hardware store not have a piese of all thread with the correct threads? Then all you would have to do is cut to the length you want.
No sealer, just the gasket for the carb base.

Re: Carb bolts

I thought about all-thread, but the bolts I picked up are the perfect length and I don't have to deal with cutting for length. i just need to grind a small bit off one flat to sneak the head by the fuel bowland I'm good to go.

Jason, I forgot to mention earlier don't forget to use flat & lock washers at each location. You probably already knew that but I thought I'd post just in case.

Thanks Tie, she's already bolted down nice and snug with a flatand a lock under each bolt. That 4bbl does look mean sitting up there...
