:welcome: aboard moor2453, glad you joined us....

Sounds like you may need to look for an old carb n Ebay to get that part. And it doesn't matter the condition of the old carb because you are only needing the screw. Another idea is to look for the manufacture of the carb, and then see if other carbs have that same part. If so you can buy a newer part that could fit. You could also contact the manufacture of the carb and see what they have available if they are still in business.

A part like that isn't unique to only your carb. It probably was used in a lot of carbs. And that is the good part about it.

There is even a possibility that a similar screw from other carbs could fit your. If you can post a picture of what you have left and maybe we can direct you to help you get a replacement. There is also the option to have a machine shop make you one. JMHO

The screw might also be a jet???
Some bowl screws incorporated a jet in there??

1983 90hp probably has it.

Look at it close and see what #s are on it?
Bottom of the screw.
76 80 84 86 should be one of these??

Yes it has an 86 on it. I've been running numbers for carbs and it looks to be a walbro we-6-1. Can't figure out how to cross reference to another motor using this carb though. Yes it is a jet not just a screw

Walbro is still in business and makes tons of carbs that have a screw (jet) in the bottom of the fuel bowl. And since you identified it as a Walbro, contact them and see what they say. I think you will find one pretty easy. JMHO

Google F10162 Jet

Someone might have it somewhere.

If Walbro doesn't??
Try Valley Sales in Prudenville, Mi.
Or try outboard salvage on google.

Sent you a PM

So after numerous contacts and not finding the jet screw I talked to a local guy that's very smart about boat motors. I was told how to make my own by using a 5/16" fine thread bolt and drilled the correct jet holes in it. About to go put it on the water and see how it goes. Will update when I return home

You know how to test for the correct flow in a high speed jet?

Wrong jet= too rich, poor performance. too lean, poor performance and possible a hole in the piston.

Keep looking for the right jet, you'll be able to find it somewhere.

Yes I know about the wrong size jet thing. Like I said a guy I know has a shop that works on boats. So after making sure that we had the correct flow got it on the water and it ran better than before leading me to believe that the jet was clogged as I thought. Quick trip home (only live 8 mins from lake) I took it further and drilled out about bolt as a spare. And removed the jet from bottom carb to clean it. Test in a few mins to see if she gonna purr like I think.

Water test.
Run the boat till it gets hot.
Then run wide open for 3-4min.
The reach over and turn the key off.
Don't throttle down, just turn the key off.
Pull the plugs and compare the burn.

Motor is running great. Did the water test and almost identical burning on the plugs. Thanks so much for all the help. Now gonna run some seafoam through it. Thanks again

If your trying to do a decarb??
Seafoam does almost nothing.
Mercury's PowerTune or OMC's Engine Tuner.
Does a much better job.

I bought a can of SF and Power Tune.
I soaked a piston in both.
The SF did nothing while the PT melted the carbon off the top of the piston.

This is my opinion. Some love SF I think it's a waste of $$$

It just seems to clean from lines all throughout the fuel system. Seems to be ok for what I use it for. Motors running super again and I'm happy with it but just being on the water is what the goal was and so far it's great.
