carb cleanin

hello, had a previous post on my motor(a 40hp mariner..mid 80's) and was told to pull the carbs and soak them overnight and clean em good.Got the carbs pulled but my bro said I need to remove the floats before soakin em.


My question is, can someone help me find a diagram of my carbs so I don't mess em up? When pulled they have KEI HIN and then under them Japan.On the flange that connects to the motor, it has 6E901 and under it BJ 30.


Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help with the diagram but your brother is correct. Plus the carbs should be reassembled with new gaskets, needle and seat.
