Running a 1996 merc force 120hp noticed top fuel bowl leaking. Not a lot of knowledge of these motors but very good with my hands. I know I’m not giving a lot of info but could this just be a gasket issue or am I looking at something more? Possibly the float or needle? Any help would be appreciated. TIA

welcome aboard.

could be a gasket, or could be a sticking float, could be something else. best to go thru all the carbs at once and then do a link-n-sync.

Is it possible to remove the fuel bowl and replace the gasket without taking the carburetor off? Never having worked on carbs before makes me a little hesitant to rip the whole thing off.

Go for it-------Nothing difficult about one of those carburetors,----Install a new float valve.
