carb gasket obsolete QD-14, now what?

so my carb is leaking at the float bowl gasket on my 53 10hp. called up the dealer, and that gasket is obsolete/not available anymore
can i make my own gasket? and with what material? or should i use the old gasket with some type of sealing compound?

that gasket wont work, diffent style carbs. they stopped using this carb in 53.

You might check with seaway marine, they carry a lot of out of production parts. You might google antique outboards, there are several clubs that might be able to help you out.

Make your own. Get the material from your local bearing, oil seal supply. Bring in the old one and they will match it for you.
