Carb gasket

Is there supposed to be a gasket between the carb and the intake man. on a 91 merc 4.3l with the rochester quadrajet carb?

There should always be a gasket between the carb and the intake.

Without a doubt. You can never put metal to metal.

And it should be a rather thick gasket and it goes on dry.....no sealer..
