Carb help please

Ok guys I was given a 1996 24 foot wellcraft Eclipse with a 357 mag bravo 4v with Volvo penta duo prop the guy left it out in a field for 3 years had motor installed 4years ago got the boat home drained all old gas changed oils and filters charged the battery’s and gave her a try and in about five mins she was running rough but running so desided to have the carb rebuilt went and got the kit and a buddy of mine said he would rebuild it when he got it apart I guess it had salt water in it guy said it was junk now I want to put a new carb on it but do not want to pay the 1400 they want can any one tell me what I can get for a carburetor it is a Weber 750cfm on there now would like to go to edelbrock can any one tell me a good match for that motor

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... I agree with Scott, However,.....

I'd do a compression/ leak-down test on the cylinders, 'n an air pressure test on the blocks coolin' passages before ya spring for the carb,....

3 years in a field, 'n all,.....

The carb that is on there is a 750cfm what kind of difference is that going to make going to 600

162 to 168 is perfect if on all cylinders. Edelbrock also makes a 750 cfm marine carb I think 1410. To me 750 seems big for a 5.7 but that is what merc used and still uses on 357 alpha and bravo remans

jets and step up rods from your webber will fit the new edelbrock as they are same carb.

That is good news I appreciate the info Scott I would like to stick with the 750 I just paid for the rebuild kit from merc so hope to be on the water this week
