I have what I was told a 1989 4.3 omc. I am triing to find out what carb is on it so I can order a rebuid kit. It is a Holly 2bbl. All the Numbers that I found on it does not match up to any carb number (6r3250b, 3858330, 75006-1, 0269, 12b-3975b, 11250). Any ideas

Thanks,

Chuck

Re: Carb help

Do you have any speed shops nearby? If so, just remove the bowl and metering block and go get some gaskets for them, IIRC they are just typical Holley as used on the performance series carbs. Think it's about 10 bucks for the bowl and metering block gasket. A new power valve is about the same, I think that year of engine used a 2.5 valve, that will probably be the hardest thing to find. There is not much in one of those carbs, they are very straighforward and easy to work on. If your removing the baseplate also you can reuse that gasket if it doesn't tear, if not a good speed shop should have that in stock also. If you are dead set on a kit one for a 350 holley 2 barrel will do the trick except it wont have the correct power valve. Usually the number you want is on the choke horn of a Holley, it will be List-XXXX or R-XXXX, can be a 4 or 5 digit number after the -.
