Launched my boat with a 1987 Evenrude 48SPL last weekend and am having some troubles. It started right up on the hose at home after being winterized, but once in the water it idled rough and stalled when going in gear. Tonight I checked the Compression 130 on top cyl, 150 on lower. I gave it a seafoam treatment and took it for a ride. Idles ok will only go on plane if I hold the choke, which is really an enrichment circuit. Runs great as long as I hold the choke, but bogs down and stalls if I release it. I think my carbs must be dirty. I plan to remove and clean them this weekend if I find the time. Any suggestion? Thanks

Answered your own question, LoL. How's the compression after the decarb? 130 an 150 is a tad far apart, hoping it got better with the decarb.

Both at 150 lbs again. Seafoam is great stuff. My kids have been wakebording the last two days and the boat is running great
