I just got my first i/o, its a 1977 glastron sea rider with a merc 888 w/302ci...it was stored at a marina and was winterized last year..i put it in the water, installed the water drain plugs, and tried to get it goin...it kept starting and stalling after 10 seconds, tried to rev it a bit when it ran and it would spit and sputter and edventually stall...after persisting with this it finally started and stayed running nice and smooth to my amazement!...so anyway..i took it out on the lake did some trolling and cruised pretty fast too.(gauges all worked and read good)....i burned about 1/2 a tank of gas ...BUT i went to take it out yesterday it ran for 5 mins then started to run rough...it would stall, wont rev up ...sometimes it will run for a minute or sometimes start and stall again....checked the fuel filter ,its good and lots of gas pumping to the carb...so i took the carb off and blew everything out..still no change...sometimes when it stalls the carb puffs kinda too!
