I have a 1989 Mercury 2.4 block with vertical 5 pedal reeds front half. I have WH-33 carbs and I live below 2500ft. This is mounted on a 1993 18ft Bayliner. I run a 3 blade 19 pitch prop. I am all about holeshot for watersports and rarely go over 5000rpms. I am currently running .64 main jets and .54 idle air bleeds. I thought this was a 2.0L 150. I am currently re-building this motor and disovered it was a 2.4L. I assume that makes this a 175hp instead? I know from looking at this motor during the rebuild it was running a little lean, but still loads up bad on very short idle time. The carbs were re-built by the mechanic 2 months ago before he installed the motor on this boat. I have all new eletronics. I also found a vacuum line broken during rebuild behind power pack going to #5 cylinder. I am just wanting to make sure I get it right before putting this new motor back in water. Thanks for all your help, Tim

Re: Carb Jetting help mercury 2.4L

Jetting is carb specific. You should use the jets that are shown in the Merc manual for the
WH-33's. Based on the WOT for that motor, your holeshot can be adjusted with the right prop. Get all the info together (look at my post over there) that the prop forum needs and post the prop question to them.
