carb kit no orifices included ?

rebuilding carbs on 1972 65 hp johnson hi low speed orifices not included are they not generaly necessary to replace. kit came with needle and seat, float, gaskets,plugs,ect.ect. first time i have ever attempted outboard repair.have seloc manual not sure if it has enough detail for beginner.diving in anyway! any tips tricks appreciated thank you. :)

You are correct - not normally needed.

if your carbs use low speed needles carefully inspect the bottom of the needle bore for a plastic bushing, I cant remember what years used it and what did not but they rotted away, there is a tech bulliten on how to identify which used the nylon bushing and which did not by the shape of the needle. maybe joe or Dhadley can remember. I just know to look.<br />we dont see many motors that old around here anymore.

yes, carb kit did include new needle bore bushings. looks like they have updated the carb parts, new bushings look to be of different material.also the float needles are not rubber tipped. simply pointed metal tipped. yes my motor is almost antique status but has many years left, is a very low hours machine. thank you!
