I have decided that I probably need to rebuild the carbs on my 90 HP Johnson and I have found the parts but I have a question. What parts are normally included in a rebuild kit? Are the gaskets included?

Re: Carb kit

Gaskets and welch plugs are included also the BRP kit will have the floats where the Sierra kit may not.

Re: Carb kit

All Gaskets and seals, and o rings should be included. The float (needel and seat) should be included also. You will have left over parts too, as most kits are for more then just the one carb. Make sure you remove the welch plugs (new ones in the kit also), and clean out all passages.

Re: Carb kit

The BRP kit is the one that I found. It is only $18!!!

I have done some research and I don't see where there is any sort of adjustment to worry a lot about. This seems strange to me. I have a Kawasaki Generator (4 stroke) that I clean the carburetor on fairly regularly (no one will ever run the gas out of it and when it is stored for 6 months or so the carb is fouled and it won't run). I messed this thing up once and didn't "count" the turns when I was backing the jet screw out and had a heck of time getting it set correctly. Everything that I have seen on the carbs for my boat seem to imply that you simply tighten everything down snugly. Is this actually the case???? That seems very strange but I haven't read anything about any sort of "adjustment" with the exception of making sure the float is parrallell (sp?) with the housing.
