i rebuilt and put new seats and needles in it. i tried it out seems not to idle and then it also dies unless u push the choke a little. i was thinking that i might not have the floats set exactly which is my question. cant u take the screw out at the top of the carbs and adjust them by sticking a little srewdriver in them and bending to adjust it a little at a time till it seeps out of the hole

What you can do is remove the top of the carburetor (with the needle & seat), turn it upside down and adjust the float so that its centerline is parallel with the top.

c/6

Hooty

If that's not the case You will probably need to get the carbs back off and clear any blockages in the small passageways not imediately evident. Sometimes it can be small holes around the butterfly in the venturii. Sometimes the passageways just need a good flushing and blowing. Other times it's not till every orafice is probed clear that they start working again.
