Hello, just signed up. I am new to the forums, but I have searched through the archives here to find some extremely helpful information as I have worked on my boat rennovation. My problem is the carb linkage and throttle cable connection. My boat is a 89 Sea-Ray w/ a 3.0L and an alpha-one outdrive. The carb is a mercarb I believe. When I attach the throttle cable, it wants to push the linkage to throttle up, however, the linkage wants to be pulled. I was hoping someone with the same set-up could post a picture of there linkages that I could compare to mine to see if it is accurate. The previous owner had bailing wire holding it together, and I don't even remember how everything was attached. I used the manual to hook up the linkages correctly, but the pictures were a bit vague and didn't really show a straight on view that I need.

Re: Carb Preoblem

I'm not sure how to close a thread, so I just want to post here my problem is fixed. Didn't want someone to go through the trouble of finding the answer after it was fixed. Turns out the previous owner messed with the remote control box and had a retaining spring backwards. Works good now though.
