I have a 1998 Force 75HP. The motor will start OK when choked but when the fuel that was in the carb is used, the engine dies. Choke, Start, Die. Runs well at high idle, but as the idle lever is moved back towards slow idle it again dies. I have taken off the carb and used cleaner in the carb and it seems good. Also the last time I was at the lake, it did not have any top end power. It would idle fine and we fished all day. Any suggestions?
More Info...As long as I have the choke on the key pushed in, runs at idle. When the choke is released, it quits.
Thanks

Put a rebuild kit on both carbs and rebuild the fuel pump. Would not hurt to do a compression test on motor first to verify it is nothing serious. Sounds like a sticking needle valve. Primer pressure from the gas tank may be forcing it to un plug

i noticed that you have to have your linkage set right to get anything out of these motors. double check all your linkage settings make sure everything is secure, if thats all good i would go with larvas advice
