so i just took my 1955 johnson seahorse 5.5 out for a test run, it seamed like it was pumping water ok and i could get it to run well but the high speed throttle adjustment kept spinning on its own from the motor vibration, causing it to sputter and stuff. is there a way to tighten it up so i dont gotta steer with one hand and hold the knob with the other? :)

Re: carb problem

At the base of the needle where it enters the carb body there should be a ~7/16" packing nut around the needle. Just snug that up.

Re: carb problem

If that does not work, you will have too replace the packing in the carb. Don't overtighten the nut and crack your carb.
