I'm not sure if it's my adjustments I'm doing to the carb or what. But I am trying to tune up an old 1967 wards Seaking 6. Sometimes it will run for a few mintues in full throttle and sometimes it will run for only a few seconds. But when it starts to die down, I can pull the choke in and out a few times to get it running back up again. I've tried opening the adjustment knob all the way till it dies then turn the knob the other way to find the max. Could it be something else that is not allowing it not to run for longer?

Sounds like it's starved for fuel if you have to choke it to keep it running.

Re: Carb problems

Is it gravity feed or a remote tank?
The carbs low speed jet could be clogged.
The fuel pump if it has one could have a bad diaphram.
The fuel lines suffering from Ethanol.
Crap/water in the fuel.J

It has a remote tank. You're right it could be all those things. I wasn't sure where to start. I have taken the fuel pump off and the diaphragm looked really (dirty, I guess). The lines are original so I should probably replace them, but I'm not sure what the lower jet is your referring to?
