Holley or edelbrock. since the intake is probably spread bore, you need a $30 adapter to fit a square bore holley or edelbrock on it.

I have overhaul probably 500 of those carbs... I can't imagine why you'd replace it...

What kind of problems is it giving you?

If it isn't repairable, Mercruiser has reman carbs. Ask your dealer about mercruiser repower carbs. Part # should be 1347-804624R1 $524.30 with a $45.00 core charge

Re: Carb Quality and Brand

Thanks for the reply. My problem with the carb is that it does not seem to last too long between rebuilds. Plus the heat spring choke is not that reliable. I did see some Rochester 4bbls that have an electric choke that would fit my engine. The only problem I have is were do I connect the leads to the electric choke.
Thanks again - Roman

You can buy a brand spanking new Eddelbrock Marine 650cfm performance series for less than $500 w/o even looking hard.

I replaced my quadra-bogs with the above and they are great. I paid like $425 a piece for them (I have twin 350s) and used the adpter plates as previously mentioned.

I had a Quadrajet on my Buick 3.8L turbo too and it gave me nothing but trouble.

Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. That is the direction I am looking. Does the adopter plate raise the level of the card much higher than stock. Also, I have a spring choke. Where do you connect the leads for the elelctric choke. Thanks Roman

The adpater plates rase it about a half inch or so. It makes it more like a high rise manifold :D

The choke wires are the same - just plug them into the electric choke on the Eddlebrocks and go.

Ralph,
Thanks for the reply. At present, I do not have any choke wires. The choke is a spring type without any power. Where would I tap into apower sourse for the electric choke. Would the coil leads be a possibly. Thanks Roman

i believe it can be connected to the ignition circuit. Most factory systems are wired to the alternator, i'm not sure which terminal though.
