Carb question - Pictures attached

Hey everyone,

I was doing a once over on the boat and started it. When I did, the engine revved very quickly so I shut the motor down. I was wondering what the heck was going on. Tried it again and this time it slowly revved to a high RPM.

I started looking at the carb area and noticed some metal hanging loose. I took a picture to better show what I am dealing with. There is a screw that is missing but I can't find it anywhere. If you know the size of the replacement screw, please let me know.

I can't remember how this goes back together so I was wondering if someone could explain it to me. Thanks!

Mike

I dont know the size, but its a shoulder screw with a wide head. Its made so that piece can move freely.
The curved side goes towards the idle adjust screw and the hook side goes opposite the idle screw.
Just the way it is in the first pic, grab the hook part the is hanging and raise it heading away from the idle screw and line it with the hole, put a bolt in and your good.

You may be able to find a small bolt that it just long enough to just come up snug. I cant exactly think right now with out looking at mine, but I dont think it really needs to move. You should not really need the choke anyway.

I got a bunch of those screws from junk carbs and would be happy to send you one if you can't find one locally.

Awesome. Thanks for the info bifflefan.

zb...I have a part coming in for my throttle control from the marina. Let me see if they can just toss one in with my order. If not, I'll definitely take advantage of your offer. Thank you!
