I've posted in the past about this engine and have received advice on cleaning and rebuilding carb. I ordered a "rebuild kit" from the local Merc dealer and received it. It only has gaskets and he doesn't show any needle valves or floats available. I checked on line and couldn't find them either.

So, some more advice needed: I am probably going to go ahead and take apart the carb and clean it and can hope to at least put it together with new gaskets. But I'm wondering what to do if I find the needles or float aren't good or heaven forbid, damage or lose something while working on it. Are there any places, other than an outboard junkyard, where I could find something that would work if need-be.

hello
usually gaskets are all thats nessasary. the master kit is a lot more expensive but will contain seats and needles for the float and air/fuel. but usually its not needed.

Thanks. I think I'll just get into it and see what happens. I always get worried taking something apart if I'm not sure I can buy any part I might lose or destroy in the process. BTDT, you know.
