I rebuilt the carb and fuel pump on my 1967 45HPChrysler When I prime gas will fill the carb and come out the top and cant get the bulb firm. I adjusted the float to specs on sheet. 13/32" upside down bottom of float to gasket and 13/16" upright from bottom of float to gasket. Is this a carb issue or a fuel pump issue? Before I installed the carb on motor I blew into the hose and could not make air flow upside down but it worked well when upright. Any help would be appreciated.

Be sure the float and needle are assembled right.
Check that the float has no leaks causing it to sink.
Check for dirt and smooth operation of the float and needle.

Re: Carb Rebuild Problems Chrysler

Thanks for the reply steelepike. Took the carb apart today and readjusted the float. Bent the float adjustment so the needle would set a little tighter. Tried re priming and it worked. No leaks. Will take it out on the lake tomorrow. I am a little worried. Rebuilt the fuel pump and the carb and fuel lines. I am planning on bringing a big fire extinguisher with me just in case. :D
