carb to manifold gasket

On the diagrams it shows two carb to manifold gaskets but when I pulled the carb it only has one, so when I rebuilt the carb I oozed the old one because itwas on good shape. SSeems odd but should it have two and could that be the problem of my idle be really finicky

It may be different gaskets depending on the bore of the carburetor.----You install only one between the carburetor and the manifold.------There is one gasket on either side of the reed plate.----AND ---I have seen those gaskets mixed up by folks too.
