I took the carb apart on this motor and there is a plastic tube in the bowl, it's dark brown, and it's broken, very brittle!. Where can get a new one? Will this come in an overhaul kit? Thanks

Had a similar problem with my '86 140. The tube running from the bowl to the carb barrel was disentigrating/melting. In my case you couldn't buy just the tube, you had to get the entire carb assembly.

I just recently read in a old manual that the additives in unleaded gas sometimes result in plastic melting. Unfortunately, it didn't say what you could do about it.

Good luck!

Try a piece of model aircraft engine fuel line,it is about 1 1/8 inch long. There is post on board that has size of hose.

Thanks, guys. I order a carb kit and if it is not included, looks like I'll be making a trip to my local hobby shop. I wouldn't have thought of the model airplane fuel line.

Hi Shaffer.

Helping would be so much easier if you would keep your problem to one thread. If we can't get the whole story at once, you will get incomplete help.

Good luck. :)

I post the first message about 3 days ago, with no reply. I decided to change the subject line to see if I would get more of a response and to move it up in the topic list. I normally don't do this as a rule and sorry if it created any confusion. I really needed to have someone responed, so I would know what to do with this engine, thanks to all that helped me out here.
