I am the original owner of a 1997 50 h.p. Force engine. I have had not one problem until now. I put automobile carburetor/valve cleaner into my gas tank about a month ago. I thought this would be a great idea since I had the boat for so long and I had not run the engine for about 5 months. I have used the boat twice since I added the carb cleaner and used about 1 ? 2 gallons of gas (didn?t go very far). I now have what looks like a mix of water and gasoline sitting in the engine compartment (couple of ounces). I have done a little bit of research and found that I should not have put auto carb cleaner in my tank. What problems do you think I have caused? I plan to dispose and replace the bad gas as soon as possible.

I wouldn't think that running one or two gallons of automotive carb cleaner through your engine will do any damage unless you did not mix any two stroke oil with the gas. No oil is not good.

could just be water in the tank, flush the system and start fresh.
