carburetor questions

I have two WM 5 carbs on my 80 HP, serial # 6234592. i am in need of rebuild kits for both. The total rebuild kits with jets and everything. I looked at mercury parts express and for my particular year model and serial number they list wm 10 and wm 12 jets. Is this the carburetor numbers or the jet numbers? Could it be possible that the WM 5 carbs are not even suppossed to be on this motor and I need wm 10 or 12's?

They only listing I could find for a 80 HP Merc w/ the serial number you specified is a center bowl WM-12 Carb. The jets hold up well. Usually if you replace gaskets and inlet needles and perhaps a float the carb will work well.
